BasketWeavingTools.com & Northwest Willow

A message from Jim Winslow, basketweavingtools.com

As I turn 80 years old I feel I need to retire. I am very  fortunate that I have found a very enthusiastic basket weaver/willow grower that not only wants my business but has a father that is a retired collage machinist teacher that has the tools and equipment needed to make the tools. They flew out from Washington state to spend time with me to learn how I make my tools. I believe that they will be a great fit for the tool making business, and sold it to them.

Please bear with them as they gear up to make all the tools that the willow basket weaving community needs, this will take a few days/weeks. I assure you that they will make a quality tool just as I did over the years.

I would like to thank all of my customers for their support over the years.

~Jim Winslow

This has been a whirlwind of a new year. Never did I imagine that a call to Jim about tools would end in me taking over the business, but I am thrilled to continue what Jim so beautifully started. He made my first basketry tools years ago and I am so grateful I have the opportunity to learn to make them and continue the business. I’m deeply committed to preserving the quality, integrity, and history of Jim Winslow Basket Weaving Tools while continuing to honor and support the craft we all cherish. Thanks to Jim continuing to be an advisor, and my father Kam’s experience machining, I know we will be able to carry on and grow. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns or even new tool needs. Jim has a long history of working with weavers to create the best tools on the market and I plan on continuing that as we move forward.

Happy Weaving!
