Living the Willow Dream

Summer has felt like a rush this year. We opened our online dried basketry willow sales for the first time, held our breath, and then watched the orders roll in. 10 days later? Sold out. Less than two weeks! If you were one of the lucky basketmakers who grabbed dried willow rods for your projects, thank you. If you missed out, we totally get it, things went fast! We were surprised, delighted, and have already expanded to have more available next year.

There’s something quietly joyful about being able to provide a bundle of well-dried willow to weavers. From the very beginning, the dream has been to grow quality basketry willow and make ordering easy so that folks anywhere in the states can get their hands on materials. Being able to do that this year has been monumental. This industry feels like it’s just starting to burst, and we are so thrilled to be a part of it. While we are years away from the production levels needed to fill the void, step by step and rod by rod we are getting closer.

Thank you to all who ordered. Double thanks to those folks how came back for more. We’re already planning for next year. We’ll be increasing quantities where we can, refining the purchasing and shipping process, and keeping the same careful drying process and quality you count on. We are also planning a few new avenues and exciting changes to make quality willow even more accessible.
